Dr Geoffrey Douch Homeopathic Studies Fund

The Faculty of Homeopathy is delighted to announce a generous bursary scheme to assist Medical Doctors and other statutorily regulated healthcare professionals to train in Homeopathy who might otherwise be unable to do so.

The Dr Geoffrey Douch Homeopathic Studies Fund has been established as a result of a generation donation received by the Faculty of Homeopathy in memory of the late Dr Geoffrey Douch.

Dr Geoffrey Douch

(1931-2022)

Dr Geoffrey Douch was born in 1931 and studied Medicine at University College London, qualifying as a Doctor in 1960. After this, he studied Homeopathy with Dr Margery Blackie and others at the former Royal London Homeopathic Hospital, subsequently becoming a Member of the Faculty of Homeopathy in 1964. At the time, Dr Blackie described him as one of her most promising students.

Afterwards, he also studied and practised Anthroposophical Medicine. He enjoyed a long and varied career spanning over 40 years, during which time, he worked in both the NHS and private practice, integrating these various disciplines within his medical practice, whilst also authoring several books and publications.

He was a founding member of both the Anthroposophical Medical Association and the Natural Medicine Society and amongst his other responsibilities, he was a Medical Advisor at Weleda for many years.

Dr Douch had a significant impact on the lives of many people throughout his career and was held in high regard by all who knew him. His quiet manner of care, compassion, and humour, coupled with his dedication, is widely remembered by his patients and colleagues alike.

The creation of this fund in his name has been possible because of a generous donation to the Faculty of Homeopathy. It provides an opportunity for Medical Doctors and other statutorily regulated healthcare professionals to train in Homeopathy who might otherwise be unable to do so.
