Dentists
Entry requirements
Practitioners must have a dental degree and be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) or hold qualifications that are registrable with the GDC.
Introductory training -
leading to the qualification LFHom (Dent)
These courses enable dentists and dental hygienists to acquire a basic understanding of homeopathy, enabling them to incorporate simple homeopathic prescribing into their routine patient care. The training requires a high level of commitment and substantial amounts of home study.
Further training –
leading to the qualification MFHom (Dent)
These courses are for dentists who have the LFHom qualification and who are seeking to acquire a greater knowledge of homeopathic prescribing within the context of general dental practice. Subjects covered include periodontal therapeutics, TMJ and headaches, medico-legal aspects, minor oral surgery, paedodontics and trauma. The MFHom(Dent) curriculum was approved in 2007; the DFHom(Dent) qualification is no longer available.
