Pharmacists
Entry requirements
Pharmacists must be registered with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain or a similar body with reciprocal registration arrangements overseas.
Introductory training -
leading to the qualification LFHom (Pharm)
This course will enable pharmacists:
- to gain a basic understanding of homeopathy, enabling them to provide informed guidance to clients and apply homeopathy in a targeted way in their clients' care;
- to dispense homeopathic prescriptions accurately;to promote the use of homeopathy in all over-the-counter environments and complement existing orthodox options;
- to achieve compliance with the requirements for professional competence in areas of specialism required by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
Further training –
leading to the qualification DFHom (Pharm) and MFHom (Pharm)
These courses are intended for pharmacists who have the LFHom (Pharm). The course aims to:
- provide instruction in advanced aspects of homeopathic theory;
- to stimulate a more proactive approach to homeopathic counter prescribing in the pharmacy;
- to improve therapeutic outcomes by ensuring more accurate counter prescribing;
- to ensure the availability of high quality homeopathic remedies and accurate dispensing;
- to enable pharmacists to discuss the discipline more knowledgeably with colleagues and patients;
- to foster a desire to contribute to research.
All courses comply with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's guidelines for pharmacy education and are accredited by the College of Pharmacy Practice.
