In this presentation and workshop Alastair Gray will guide participants through the broad landscape of research in homeopathy. Alastair will explore why the emphasis on mechanism of action in homeopathy research, and clinical research, while interesting, has drawn the oxygen from the immediate needs to the profession - which is to contribute to urgent public health and health services research outcomes.

Homeopathy desperately needs to build research capacity. Practitioners can assist. With this emphasis on generating meaningful research skills as part of an overarching strategy the next steps in the path includes this necessary upskilling of practitioners.

In this presentation Alastair describes how the practically orientated research component of the program at the Academy of Homeopathy Education and the emphasis on research embedded within the clinical training portion of HOHM foundation, is able to engage students (future practitioners) in this critically important work to build capacity.

In this practical and hands on session participants will learn that with a small-time commitment, and with some attention to sound method that daily clinical practice is able to generate the publishable peer reviewed, published practice-based outcomes homeopathy as a profession desperately needs. Demonstrations of outcomes from HOHM Foundation’s Homeopathy Health Network – which has seen over 4300 acute cases in the last two years will be peppered throughout this presentation.
