Renata Lemonica graduated from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) in 1997. She did her internal fellowship at GEHSP Benoit Mure, receiving her title of Specialist in Homeopathy by the Brasilian Medical Homeopathic Association (AMHB) in 2000. She completed her Master's degree in Collective Health at the State University of São Paulo (UNESP) with a focus on researching homeopathic services in the Brazilian public health network (SUS). She is the founder and head of the homeopathy and acupuncture service at UNESP. She takes homeopathy appointments both in the SUS and in her private clinic. She also teaches classes in specialization courses in homeopathy. She is currently doing her PhD in Collective Health, researching the effect of homeopathic treatment in epidemics.

Dr Kelley Joubert is a qualified and registered Homeopath and Acupuncturist, having completed her Master’s degree and Postgraduate Diploma through the University of Johannesburg. Kelley has a special interest in identifying the potential roles of complementary medicine in the treatment of cancer as well as to assist patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Dr Joubert was privileged enough to conduct original research and write review articles alongside Prof Heidi Abrahamse and Prof Blassan George at the Laser Research Centre, University of Johannesburg. Kelley won the Health Sciences Top Achiever award for Best Researcher at the Laser Research Centre and first prize in Poster presentation at the Biophotonics in Cancer Symposium, international conference. Currently, Dr Joubert owns two private practices in Johannesburg, South Africa, where her key focus is to integrate a warm, welcoming, nurturing, and safe environment for her patients and remove the stigma of the “doctor-patient” relationship to improve patient health outcomes. Dr Joubert further acts as a part-time supervising clinician where she oversees both Homeopathy and Acupuncture undergraduate students at the University of Johannesburg.

Can Nanoparticles in Homeopathic Remedies Enhance Phototherapy of Cancer? A Hypothetical Model

Dr Ayesha Loonat has completed a six-year degree program in homeopathy, at the University of Johannesburg, Department of Complementary Medicine, and graduated top of her class with Cum laude. During her studies she received the top Homeopathy student award (2016, 2018, 2019, 2020) and top physiology student award (2016). She was also inaugurated into the UJenius club at the University of Johannesburg (Celebrating the top 1% of academic achievers at the University) and the Golden Key International Honours Society - UJ Chapter. She has also completed the CRLA's international tutor training programme certification requirements for Tutor, level 1. Dr Loonat carried out a two-year supervised Master's study at the Department of Complementary Medicine in collaboration with the Laser Research Centre at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Johannesburg. Dr Loonat completed her Master's study with distinction and received the Chancellor's medal for most meritorious Master's study based on academic excellence in 2020. Dr Loonat has presented her research findings at the first International Virtual HSA congress in May 2021. Beyond this, Dr. Loonat has also been published in the journal Homeopathy for her co-authored hypothesis article titled, "Can Nanoparticles in Homeopathic Remedies Enhance Phototherapy of Cancer? A Hypothetical Model"; and in the Frontiers in Pharmacology journal for an original research article titled, "Photodynamic effects of Thuja occidentalis homeopathic mother tincture on lung cancer cells". Dr Loonat has a private practice in South Africa and is committed to the health, safety, and well-being of her patients. Dr. Loonat is as passionate about learning as she is about teaching and strongly believes her most important role as a doctor is educating her patients about their health (how to preserve it) and their illness (how to overcome it). Dr. Loonat is registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA) and with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and is a member of the Homeopathic Association of South Africa (HSA). She is currently working towards her postgraduate diploma in Acupuncture.
