I studied classical music as a child and young adult. When completing my

education in New York City as a classical composer, I found there was little
interest in contemporary classical music. Like many young people just out of
school, I found work outside of my training. Then, when the AIDs crisis started
in the mid to late 1980s in New York City, I found a position making
homeopathic remedies using Chinese herbs while working with patients who had
AIDS. I felt like an alchemist. 

I was told by a doctor that he would hire me in a minute if I were a registered nurse. So, I became a registered nurse and then a family nurse practitioner. That was 32 years ago. When I moved to Asheville, NC I specialized in working in mental health. I became increasing annoyed and discouraged using conventional medications in that they only suppressed symptoms. There was only palliation. That’s when I decided to become a
classical homeopath. 10 years later, I still work in mental health. But I also
have a small practice seeing children and adults with various medical problems.
By the way, I still write classical music.
