Francey Lewer-Allen

I am Francey Lewer Allen , daughter of Dr Margaret Blakeway , who was a member of the Faculty for many decades. She was a friend of Dr Marjorie Blackie and they shared two major interests, Homoeopathy and big black Rolls Royce’s.

I grew up with it and have practiced it in solo private practice for fifty years. It has been a battle to keep Homoeopathy alive in South Africa as the orthodox medical fraternity were dead against it. Dr David Lilley was also my mentor, and we, with three or four others, formed the first National Body, the South African Medical Association of Homoeopathy,  in the early 1980’s .

There are now many medical Homoeopaths as well as two significent colleges which have a five year course almost identical to the medical training, minus the pharmaceutical emphasis.

My other interests are History, gardening, and my Belgian Sheherds, and my family of two daughters, their husbands, twin boy grandchildren, and a grandbunny.
