How did you start your journey in Homeopathy practice?

I read the Organon in my second year of medical school in London then attended a student day at the then Royal London Homeopathic Hospital (RLHH). Realising the limits of conventional medicine I was drawn  to the holistic view of Homeopathy and also explored acupuncture, nutritional and environmental medicine. I completed my medical training taking opportunities to sit in with consultants from RLHH, took an elective that saw homeopathy in India and acupuncture in Sri Lanka. After a foundation year in hospitals I joined an intensive course at RLHH, took the MFHom then worked for a short time in general practice then at a charitable naturopathic clinic in London continuing my homeopathic studies and my personal, spiritual and professional journey.

How do you integrate Homeopathy in your professional practice?

Having decided I wanted to integrate homeopathy and other complementary approaches into a holistic approach and realising this was not going to be possible in NHS General practice of that time, I started an independent practice. Working over several sites in the South and bringing in colleagues from other disciplines as well as other homeopaths. While homeopathy provided the ‘information’ for healing it was equally important to attend to the obstacles to cure including lifestyle, psychological traumas and emotional triggers. Realising ‘independent practice’ was underrepresented in the Faculty of Homeopathy I joined the Faculty Council and served in a number of roles. I co-founded the homeopathic physicians teaching group (HPTG) to promote the training of doctors and vets. When I realised I could be learning more from difficult cases, I built in regular supervision time before training in and developing the five realms model of Coaching and Supervision for homeopaths and health professionals.
