How did you start your journey in Homeopathy?

Even before attending Medical School I was attracted to holistic medicine. Then my first actual experience of homeopathy was an elective period at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital as a third year medical student. I can still remember sitting in the oak panelled library reading the extraordinary accounts of cures and exciting materia medica of remedies. Then as a fourth year student I proved that homeopathy works! Well – I conducted a double-blind placebo-controlled trial of potencies of house dust mite as a treatment for house dust allergy and the results were dramatic – the homeopathy made a huge, statistically significant difference.

How do you integrate Homeopathy into your Practice?

Over the years since beginning to use homeopathy in 1986 I have gradually become more and more one-pointed in my practice. Now it is just one hundred percent homeopathy. My focus throughout the consultation is simply “What remedy does this person need?” Of course, I am a physician and I am always careful to recommend conventional investigation and treatments if necessary. But the people I see nowadays are usually already having everything conventional medicine has to offer and have been referred to me for one thing – homeopathy. And I know that if we can find the simillimum – that remedy which exactly fits the patient – that nothing else can come close to being as effective in their healing. The right homeopathic prescription works wonders – removing very longstanding and severe symptoms on all levels and helping people to enjoy life again. I can imagine nothing so fulfilling and rewarding as helping people in that way.
