How did you start your journey in Homeopathy practice?
My father Dr. Jagdish Chandra Nigam DF (Homoeopathy) was a famous homoeopath in North India. After returning from the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital (RLHH), he realised that medically trained doctors were better homoeopaths.
While he wanted me to be a Homoeopath, I always believed the homoeopathy was sweet pills and sweet talks. During my internship, I sat in his practice, my first surprise was when I prescribed Sepia to a lady with a large ovarian cyst about to be operated. I saw her cyst absolutely cured in 3 months and that kind of made me sit up and think about Homoeopathy seriously and here I am 30 years later.
How do you integrate Homeopathy in your professional practice?
I practice fulltime homoeopathy. My prescribing techniques are classical and clinical both. The potencies I prefer are on Hahnemanian & Kentian scale.
I do not use Homoeopathy in Emergencies. In surgical cases I use homoeopathy as add on therapy, although I advise my patients against unnecessary operations like operations for Adenoids, Tonsils, and Appendix and rather cure them with homoeopathic. Steroids, Antibiotics, Anti-Inflammatory and Analgesics are very rarely used in my practice.
I specialise in treating Renal Stone with Homoeopathy that are less than 15 mm in size, Uterine Fibroid that are less than 5 cms in size, Ovarian Cyst that are up to 5 cms in size.
I also specialise in treating Behavioural disorders, Paediatric cases, Gastro-liver cases, Dermatology, Rheumatologic, Metabolic and Immunologic cases. In Oncology I use homoeopathy as palliative.
