Aesthetic Medicine

How did you start your journey in Homeopathy practice?

I’ve always believed in the mind-body connection and the fact that the body can heal itself given the right opportunity. As an organic farmer as well as practising doctor I attended the HAWL (Homeopathy at Welly Level – sponsored by the then Prince of Wales).  Being enchanted by the method I followed the Licentiate Course at the RLHH, masterminded and presented by Dr Russell Malcolm. No other medical study enlivened, nourished and stimulated me; the wisdom, the awe and the humility associated with being a homeopath. I am ever grateful for what drove me to take those first steps.

How do you integrate Homeopathy in your professional practice?

Over the last 30 years I’ve been practising a holistic style of Aesthetic Medicine incorporating diet, microbiome awareness, lifestyle, exercise and meditational disciplines into my practice. Homeopathy has allowed me to understand and treat the root cause of many aesthetic concerns e.g. hair loss - grief, shock - facial volume loss and complex cases of acne and breakouts. The homeopathic aspect fits snugly into my conventional consultations; patients feel reassured that I seek the precipitating factors and integrate homeopathic prescriptions into my treatment plan. Sometimes a constitutional remedy springs to mind which I feel would enhance the outcome. Acute remedies such as Arnica and Phosphorus shorten the recovery phase which sets me above my conventional colleagues. Above all homeopathy strengthens my relationship with my patients and enables me to provide advice on a wide range of subjects. The absence of side effects and gentle healing of homeopathy is welcomed by all.
